Britnee JohnstonHOTEL REVIEW: RESIDENZA D’EPOCA RELAIS MIRACOLI IN PISA Britnee Johnston July 1 Europe, Italy, Travel Private Room Amenities Location Price 5.0Overall Score Reader Rating: (0 Votes)My sister, Alexa, and I booked one night in Pisa during our Europe trip in June 2022. We figured one night was enough since we’d fly in that morning, which would give us enough time to check out the Tower of Pisa, spend the night, and then head out the next morning to Cinque Terre by train. Unfortunately, our EasyJet flight from Paris to Pisa was diverted to land in Bologna instead–a two hour drive away from Pisa! Once we landed in Bologna, it took six hours before the airline provided a bus to show up at the terminal (with enough seats) to take us to Pisa. Not only that, but the bus didn’t have any AC, and it was so hot! But all of us passengers were tired of waiting and told the bus driver to continue on instead of going back to the airport to wait for another bus. It was a miserable experience, and we got to Pisa too late to go inside the tower or the surrounding buildings. What’s worse is that EasyJet promised to reimburse me for the huge inconvenience, but they never paid me. (They claim their system said they’ve paid me, but my bank and credit card company said they haven’t and there’s nothing they can do about it. How convenient for EasyJet.) But that’s a story for another time… let’s talk about this amazing hotel in Pisa that made us so happy after our awful day of travel! Anyways, so we got to Pisa late, but fortunately, we booked the Residenza D’Epoca Relais | Miracoli, which was located directly across from the Tower of Pisa. The view from our room was incredible! The location made it so we could still go out and walk around the Tower of Pisa courtyard in the evening and safely get back to our hotel since it was right there. There was also a McDonald’s nearby where we got our late dinner since our options were limited by the time we got to Pisa. We ordered some sandwiches and snagged McFlurry Kit Kats that were surprisingly amazing. The hotel receptionist was so sweet and helped us carry our luggage up the stairs and made sure we got into our room. The room itself was cozy with two beds, one in the entrance area and then another one closed off in its own bedroom. The bathroom was super clean and wonderful to use after a long day at the airport and bus. Luckily, we also had some time in the morning to walk around before we had to catch our train to Cinque Terre. Again, since we were staying literally just a few hundred feet away from the tower, we were able to go out to visit quickly before any of the crowds appeared. Actually, we didn’t even have to go out! We could just poke our heads out the window as soon as we woke up to see the Tower of Pisa without any crowds, pictured above. This was one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed in, mainly because of the views of Tower of Pisa. Nothing can beat it. It’s incredible! You have to come stay here. The cost was $226 for one night in June 2022. Make sure you book the room with the tower view. View and book the hotel at booking.com.
