Our time in Pokhara was mostly spent in our hotel room due to a bad case of giardia after our first trek in Nepal. We couldn’t have asked for a better room to be sick in as we laid comfortable in our beds with a nice TV and great bathroom to meet our needs. The staff were always friendly and were sure to ask if we were feeling better whenever they saw us.

Private Room:

The private room came with a TV, small couch, and a closet with a security safe. The room was super clean and the twin beds were plush making our stay very comfortable. The bathroom was clean with a shower with hot water.

Amenities:

For the first time on our trip we became couch potatoes watching TV day after day. There were several English channels full of sports, movies, and music videos. We had been deprived of TV for six months, so it was a celebration to finally have a TV with English channels. The wifi was usually good, but there were times when it wasn’t working. The power would go off and on, but that is typical with Pokhara in general. There is food service available on site, which we used two times. The food wasn’t really good, so I don’t recommend it even though it was nice to have food brought to our room instead of going out. The staff is very friendly and would greet us every morning when we walked by. They were also understanding whenever we needed to extend our stay.

Pricing:

We paid $12/night for a wonderful private room with a private bath. This price seemed comparable to other accommodation in the area.

Location:

The location was perfect as it was set away from the busy main road making it quiet in our room. It was only a five minute walk to restaurants and shops, and a ten minute walk to the lake. There is a travel agency right outside of the hotel that helped us plan for our Annapurna Base Camp trek, helped book a taxi, and rented bikes to us for a day around Pokhara.
